Pleasant Creek Trail Run
The Pleasant Creek Trail Run is scheduled for September 11, 2027 in Palo, Iowa. The event is organized by the Eastern Iowa Trail Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and offers multiple looped trail distances on Pleasant Creek Park's equestrian trail.
Distances:
- 15K
- 30K
- 45K
The course uses the park's outer equestrian loop, which is 15K per loop. All distances run the loop clockwise and return to the start area to begin each subsequent loop. The surface is primarily dirt and grass with possible small water crossings and rolling hills. Strollers and pets are not allowed on the course.
Awards and prizes are offered for top finishers: overall male and female winners receive cash payouts and free registration for the following year. Additional cash payouts are available for event record performances. Age-group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in the age groups 29 and under, 30-45, and 46 and older; overall top finishers are not eligible for age-group awards. Timing services are provided by OnlineRaceResults.
Parking is directed to the Pleasant Creek Beach grass field per volunteer instructions; parking on grass elsewhere is not allowed. Registration opens January 1, 2027 at 12:00 AM CT. There is no day-of registration; packet pickup is available prior to race day and on race morning, and timing chips must be collected before the race start. No bib transfers or refunds; distance changes are allowed only before race day and may affect award eligibility. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
