This event is held on the El Dorado Trail at Placerville Station, 2984 Mosquito Road, Placerville, CA 95667. It is organized by Troy's California Trail Runs and offers multiple distances to be run on trail surfaces.

The trail passes through oak trees and rolling hills and provides open views of the surrounding area. The event is held rain or shine. Courses will be marked with ribbons, signs and gypsum. Aid stations are available along the routes. There is a four hour time limit for course completion.
Bib pick-up and registration take place on race day, and race day registration is available. Strollers are allowed in the 5K, 10K and 15K. All finishers receive a commemorative medal. Detailed course descriptions and maps are provided by the organizer for each distance.
