Piglove By The River 10km & 5km

Piglove By The River is an evening running event hosted at a beer garden within Citu’s Climate Innovation District in Leeds. The event offers two distance options and takes place across different seasons, including spring, summer, and an autumn "by night" edition. The race headquarters is located at Clarence Road, featuring facilities such as toilets and bag storage for participants.

The courses primarily utilize the Trans Pennine Trail and riverside paths.

  • 5 km: A flat route that follows the Trans Pennine Trail for 2.5 km before reaching a marshalled turnaround point near Thwaite Mills.
  • 10 km: This course follows the 5 km path. During British Summer Time, it continues past Thwaite Mills on slightly more rugged terrain and includes a crossing over a small bridge with steps. For the autumn night event, the 10 km route consists of two laps of the 5 km course.

The terrain consists of public footpaths, lakeside trails, and tarmac surfaces. For the autumn "By Night" event, participants are required to carry a headtorch. All finishers receive a drink provided by the Piglove Brewery. To reduce environmental impact, medals and t-shirts are not included in the standard entry but are available as optional extras.

The venue is located near Leeds Station and Leeds Dock. While local parking is available at CitiPark Leeds Dock, the organizers encourage arrival via public transport, bicycle, or on foot. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
