Pick Your Poison Trail Run
Pick Your Poison Trail Race
Pick Your Poison is an annual trail race held in April in the Copeland Forest near Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Runners choose from three distances based on a 12.5 km loop: 12.5 km, 25 km, and 50 km.
The course is about 98% trail based and each loop includes roughly 343 m of elevation gain. The route begins with approximately 500 m of logging road before single track sections, and features climbs up the ski hill, rolling valley trails, mountain bike single track, cross country ski trails and a notable climb known as Little Katie.
Each loop has three aid stations stocked with water, pop, Hammer Nutrition Heed electrolytes, candy, chips, pickles, and gels; additional items such as fruit and hot soup may be available. The race operates cupless to reduce waste and encourages runners to use reusable bottles and hydration systems; cups are provided for warm liquids when needed.
Registration is first come first served with a total capacity of 450 runners (150 per distance) and a wait list managed by order of sign up. Refunds are not offered; race entries may be deferred under the event's deferral policy. The event is run as a not for profit and proceeds support local mental health programs and the Copeland Forest Friends. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
