Pick Your Poison (PYP) is a not-for-profit ultra trail race held annually in April in the Copeland Forest / Heights of Horseshoe area near Barrie, Ontario. The 2026 event is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026. Runners can choose from these distances:

  • 12.5k
  • 25k
  • 50k

The course uses a 12.5k loop. The 25k is two loops and the 50k is four loops. The course passes through forested trails and includes climbs and variable spring weather conditions.

Logistics and policies

The event capacity is 450 runners, with 150 entries allocated to each distance. Registration is handled on a first-come, first-served basis and opens December 1, 2025. A waitlist is maintained; participants on the waitlist are invited to register in order as spots open and are charged only if selected and they accept.

There are three aid stations per loop stocked with water, electrolytes, soda, candy, chips, pickles and sometimes additional items such as PB&J sandwiches and hot soup. Post-race food is provided via a boxed lunch ticket. Refunds are not offered; runners may defer entry (deferrals can be carried over for up to two years).
