Pick Your Poison Trail Race

The Pick Your Poison Trail Race offers a trail running experience in the heart of the Copeland Forest, located at the Heights of Horseshoe in the Barrie area of Ontario. The event is centered around a 12.5 km loop featuring technical terrain and climbs that elevate the heart rate. Participants can select from three specific race distances:

  • 12.5 km (one loop)
  • 25 km (two loops)
  • 50 km (four loops)

The course is supported by three aid stations per loop, providing water, electrolytes, gels, and various snacks such as chips, candy, and pickles. Spring weather conditions in Ontario are known for variability, with past events ranging from mild temperatures to snow and mud.

This event operates as a not-for-profit, with proceeds benefiting local social service organizations, the Copeland Forest Friends, and mental health programs. Finishers receive technical socks, a post-race meal, and local products like jars of honey. The race capacity is limited to 450 runners, subdivided into 150 spots for each distance. Registration is managed through a first-come, first-served basis with a waitlist system available for those who miss the initial entry window.
