The Pick Your Poison Trail Run 2026 is a trail running event scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, at The Heights Ski & Country Club on Horseshoe Valley Road West, near Barrie, Ontario, Canada. The event features three distances based on a 12.5 km loop. Each loop includes 343 meters of elevation gain and is 98% trail-based.

Course and Challenge

The 12.5 km loop traverses the terrain of The Heights of Horseshoe in Craighurst. It begins with a stretch of logging road, proceeds onto mountain bike and cross-country ski trails, and features several significant climbs, including an ascent up a ski hill. The course includes three aid stations per loop.

Registration and Logistics

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, with a total capacity of 450 runners (150 per distance). The event is currently sold out. A free waitlist opens after all race entries are sold. No refunds are offered, but runners can defer their entry to the following year, with a maximum two-year deferral.

Amenities and Sustainability

Each participant receives a jar of local honey and a shirt. Finishers of all distances receive a pair of unique technical socks. The event is operated as a cupless race to minimize waste; participants must bring their own reusable container or hydration system for aid station refills. A boxed lunch is included with registration. Race proceeds support local social service organizations and the Copeland Forest Friends.
