Event Overview

The Creemore Vertical Challenge takes place on October 17, 2026. It is a trail and ultrarunning event offering four different race distances: 14 km, 27.5 km, 55 km, and 80 km (50 Miler). The course is a combination of trails and dirt roads, described as having "almost no cliffs."

Course Details

The course is reported to be approximately 70% road, mostly gravel, and 30% trail. The route goes through the hills of Creemore on private trails and gravel roads, offering scenic views. The event includes an element of vertical gain, with roughly a half mile of gain per lap. Race organizers note that trail sections may become difficult if the conditions are wet.

Registration and Fees

Registration is open for the 2026 event. Fees are structured with early bird and regular pricing. An 80K registration costs $125/$145, a 55K costs $105/$125, a 27.5K costs $95/$105, and a 14K costs $85/$95. Early registration ends on April 1, 2026, and regular registration ends on October 10, 2026. Deferrals to the 2027 event are possible until September 17, 2026, and bib transfers to another person are allowed until October 1, 2026.

Participant Information

The event is held at Mad River Park on George St. in Creemore. Free public parking is available at the Creemore Arena on Collingwood Street, which is a 5-10 minute walk from the park. Race kit pick-up times are staggered by distance on the morning of the event. Drop bags are optional for the 55K and 80K distances and will be held at the start/finish line aid station.

On-Course Support

There will be four aid stations on the course, stocked with water, electrolyte drinks, and assorted snacks. Cut-off times are enforced: 13 hours for the 80K, 10 hours for the 55K, and 7 hours for the 27.5K. A headlamp is required for the 80K distance.
