Trails North Workshop

The Trails North Workshop is a half-day trail-running workshop offered by North of 89 Outdoors at trails in Devil’s Glen and Nottawasaga Bluffs. The session fee is $45. Proceeds from the event partially support the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority (NVCA). Participants who previously signed up for the Chill Session are eligible for a 20% workshop coupon.

Program and content

The program includes a welcome and warm-up with light refreshments, a coach-led discussion on setting realistic race goals for 2026 and the timing of training for spring and summer races, and an extended Q&A. Participants will do an easy-paced, social run of 5k to experience winter trail conditions and to discuss winter gear, traction devices, and layering strategies. The workshop also covers maintaining aerobic base through the cold months, creating personalized winter training plans, balancing indoor and outdoor training, and strategies for staying motivated through the holidays. A hearty winter lunch is provided, with items such as flatbreads and a veggie protein bowl. The day concludes with a final Q&A and a take-home training template. Rossignol is supporting the workshop and attendees have the option to test new trail shoe models made with recycled materials. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
