South Wales Zombie Run

Phoenix Running South Wales stages the Zombie Run on Saturday 31 October 2026 at Barry Sidings Country Park, using the Taff Trail through the park and nearby Trehafod. The event is lap based on a 5.3 km (3.28 mile) out and back course that starts near Barry Sidings Cafe and passes the aid station, the cafe, and the lakes on each lap.

Participants may choose how many laps to complete within a 7 hour time limit. Offered distances include:

The minimum distance recorded is one lap, 3.28 miles, and the course surface is entirely tarmac or pavement. Each lap has approximately 50 m of elevation gain and loss. The event is classed as Road and holds a course accuracy certificate from AUKCM, number 25/431. A Welsh Athletics race license has been applied for.

Phoenix Running South Wales operates flexible rock up and run start times and offers a standard entry with a bespoke finishers medal as well as a lower cost no medal entry option. The event provides an aid station, same day results, digital race services, and athlete profiles. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under under UK Athletics rules. Trail runs nearby

Two trail runs of 5 or 13 miles that include the Pen y Fan summit in the Brecon Beacons. Entry includes a buff, chip timing and a marshalled route with specified compulsory kit for each distance.

A 50 mile event on 1 August 2026 following the Cambrian Way and Heart of Wales Line with 7,100 ft of ascent, four stocked checkpoints and no formal time limits. Route files are provided via Plotaroute.

Discover the Rose Run with Phoenix Running South Wales at Parc Taf Bargoed, a scenic multi terrain out and back with a repeatable 5.3 km lap to build distances from 5 km to ultra. Rock up and run with staggered starts and limited spots.

A fell race at the Llanthony Show on 1 August 2026 with a 6.3 km senior course (350 m ascent) plus multiple junior races across age categories.
