The Pen Y Fan Challenge is a trail running event on Sunday 26 July 2026 near postcode LD3 8NL. The course includes the summit of Pen Y Fan, described in the event text as the highest peak in South Wales. Two distance options are offered:

Entry, fees and compulsory kit

Entry fees are listed separately for UKA members and non-members:

  • Non Member - 5 Miles: £24.00
  • UKA Member - 13 Miles: £30.00
  • Non Member - 13 Miles: £32.00

The entry price includes a buff, a medal, chip timing, a National Trust contribution fee, and a signed, posted and marshalled route. Water and sweets are provided at the end of the 5-mile race and at one checkpoint on the 13-mile race.

Compulsory kit for the 5-mile race: mobile phone, hydration (minimum 500 ml), foil blanket or bivi bag, snacks, basic first-aid kit, whistle, windproof jacket, and a reusable cup.
