Pen Y Fan Challenge
The Pen Y Fan Challenge is a trail running event on 26 July 2026 at Storey Arms in the Brecon Beacons. The routes reach the Pen Y Fan summit and follow signed, posted and marshalled trails.

Entry includes a free buff, a branded slate coaster, chip timing and a National Trust contribution fee. Water and sweets are provided at the end of the 5 mile route and at one checkpoint on the 13 mile route. Elevation gains are listed for each route: the 5 mile route shows 1765 ft / 538 m and the 13 mile route shows 4097 ft / 1248 m.
Compulsory kit is specified for each distance. For the 5 mile option the required items are a mobile phone, hydration of at least 500 ml, a foil blanket or a Bivi bag, snacks, a basic first aid kit, a whistle and a windproof jacket. For the 13 mile option the required items are a mobile phone, hydration of at least 2 litres, a foil blanket or a Bivi bag, snacks, a basic first aid kit, a whistle, waterproof jacket and trousers, and hat or buff and gloves.
