Beast of Llangattock : overview
The Beast of Llangattock is a trail running event on Saturday 22 August 2026, based at Park Farm, Llangattock (Crickhowell, Powys, NP8 1HT). The event offers four distances:

Course, support and requirements
The route leaves Park Farm, follows a short section of the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal, then moves onto fields, ancient walkways and climbs to the Llangattock Escarpment. Notable features include the Lonely Shepherd stone, open moorland, views towards the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons, Craig y Cilau above the cave systems, Clydach Gorge, rivers and ancient woods before returning along the canal. The 32-mile total ascent is listed as 4,842 ft.
Support includes marked checkpoints and refreshment zones: one light refreshment zone on the 10 km; two well stocked energy zones plus HQ for other distances, giving 20- and 32-mile runners three zones on each loop. Checkpoints offer a range of food and drinks with options for dietary requirements. Facilities include toilets, refreshments, a pizza/refreshment van, parking (£5, ballot for a prize), physio (fee), and a full medical team.
