Beast of Llangattock - Trail Running Event

The Beast of Llangattock is a marked trail running event held at Park Farm, Llangattock, Crickhowell, Powys. The event offers multiple route lengths across moorland, escarpment and valley trails, with sections that run above cave systems and alongside a short stretch of the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal. GPX files are provided for the routes.

Each route includes one or more well stocked checkpoints offering water and a range of food options. Checkpoints list nuts, bananas, biscuits, crisps, electrolytes, squash, coke and options for various dietary requirements including vegan. The 20 mile and 32 mile entries use repeated loops and have multiple energy zones; the 10 km has a lighter refreshment point.

Total ascent figures are published per distance and the course is fully marked. Facilities at the event include toilets, refreshments, parking (paid), physio, a full medical team and on site food vendors. A mandatory kit list is enforced and will be checked at registration; required items include waterproofs, a race vest or pack, capacity for at least one litre of fluid, emergency food, map or GPX file, charged mobile phone, appropriate footwear and a first aid kit.
