Manchester - Burrs Bash

Phoenix Running Manchester and The Sunnywood Project hold a lapped running event at Burrs Country Park in Bury (BL8 1DA). The course is mostly hard packed trail and riverside trail. The event supports The Sunnywood Project, a community organisation that promotes outdoor activity and mental health.

Participants can run as many laps as they wish within a seven hour time limit. Elevation is approximately 187 ft per 3.28 miles (5.3 km). Distances based on laps are:

  • 1 lap = 3.28 miles (5.3 km)
  • 2 laps = 6.6 miles
  • 4 laps = half marathon
  • 8 laps = marathon
  • 9 laps and over = ultra

Entry fees are listed as £40.00 for affiliated runners and £42.00 for unaffiliated runners; the fee includes a £2 contribution to The Sunnywood Project. The event offers a pick your own medal option and a medal free option; medals are subject to availability and the organiser can be contacted to check specific medals before booking.

A well stocked aid station will be available throughout the event with items such as crisps, pretzels, cookies, biscuits, bananas, squash, water, and more.
