Manchester - Burrs Bash

The Manchester - Burrs Bash takes place at Burrs Country Park, Bury, Greater Manchester, on Saturday 27 June 2026. The event is organised by Phoenix Running Manchester in collaboration with The Sunnywood Project and supports that community-based organisation, which focuses on outdoor access and mental health.

Event details

Terrain is mostly hard-packed trail and riverside trail. The event uses a lapped format: participants may complete as many laps as they like within a 7-hour time limit. Elevation is approximately 187 ft per 3.28 miles.

  • 2 laps = 6.6 miles
  • 4 laps = Half marathon
  • 8 laps = Marathon
  • 9+ laps = Ultra

Entry fees are listed as £40.00 (Affiliated) and £42.00 (Unaffiliated); the fee includes a contribution to The Sunnywood Project. A medal-free option is available and there is also a pick-your-own medal system for those who want a specific medal.

An aid station will be open all day with items such as crisps, pretzels, cookies, biscuits, bananas, squash, and water. Toilets and registration are located at The Sunnywood Hub. Public parking is available within Burrs Country Park and is mostly free. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under under UK Athletics rules.
