Petzl Night Trails at Salcey Forest is a night trail running event over 10k on a marked, two-lap route. A head or chest torch is required to take part. Petzl will attend with demo head torches at the event.

Location and access

The event takes place at Salcey Forest, postcode NN7 2HX. The venue is a Forestry Commission site with a cafe and toilets. It is near Northampton and the closest train station is Northampton. Organisers have negotiated an evening parking rate of £3.50; parking is payable on site.

Course and race format

The route is on crushed stone with tree detritus; ground conditions may become slippery or muddy depending on the weather. The course is fully marked and described as essentially flat. Canicross is offered as a separate race; canicross runners start separately from the main field and should enter the canicross category.

Entry, services and partner details

Entry uses tiered pricing: before 24/02/2026 the fee is £16, after that it is £21. Unaffiliated entrants pay an additional £2. Biodegradable cups and water/electrolyte will be available on course and hot drinks will be available before and after the event.
