Paris Mountain Half Marathon Run/Hike
The Paris Mountain Half Marathon is a trail event held at Paris Mountain State Park in Greenville, SC. The course is a single loop of 13.1 miles that begins and ends at Shelter #3. The route mixes singletrack and wide switchbacks, passes three lakes with waterfalls, and includes two significant climbs totaling about 2,300 feet of elevation gain. The Sulphur Springs switchbacks are a notable section on the route.
Two aid stations are positioned at approximately mile 4.6 and mile 10.4 and provide water, sports drinks, and a selection of snacks. The event is cup-less and uses a disposable timing chip on the back of the bib; results are available live. There is a six hour time limit for completing the course.
Race amenities include a custom race bib, chip timing and live results, a custom finisher medal, a custom race tattoo, event-themed giveaways, and post-race pancakes. All finishers receive a medal; awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three in each of 15 age categories. Parking is at Shelter #3 inside the park and a $5 special use permit is required and paid during registration.
