Long Night In Lanford
Long Night In Lanford is a dusk-to-dawn trail event held on a farm in Enoree, South Carolina (210 Service Dr). The event uses a roughly 1-mile off-road loop that begins and ends at a barn on gravel, moves downhill into woods, crosses an open field along Beaverdam Creek, passes through pine and hay pastures, and returns to the barn. Expect uneven terrain and wildlife typical of a Southern fall night.
Competitors must complete their first lap at dusk and their last lap at dawn to be recorded as finishers. The winner is the person who completes the most laps by sunrise. There are no cut-off times or speed requirements; participants may walk, jog, or run. Strollers and pets are not allowed.
Night operations include headlamps and flashlights for running after dusk, horn blasts to mark the start and the final lap, and a scheduled direction change during the night. Participants should bring their own light source. An aid station will be staffed through the night with snacks, water, and hot food provided by volunteers and sponsors.
Gates open midday on Saturday and packet pickup occurs in the afternoon. There is space for tents and crew setups. Post-race services include professional race photos, a hot breakfast at sunrise, awards for top finishers, and t-shirts guaranteed for entrants registered by October 15.
