Prisoner of War Trail Race
The Prisoner of War Trail Race is held at Croft State Park in Spartanburg, South Carolina, with base camp and the central aid station at the park Activity Center. The course uses figure-eight loops across roughly 7,000 acres of former Camp Croft terrain.

- POW 50K two figure-eight loops
- Infantry 25K one full figure-eight loop
- Semper Fi 8 Mile northern section of the figure eight
The trails are described as genuinely rugged backcountry with roots, rocks, and sustained climbing. Runners pass the Activity Center each loop to report at the central checkpoint and aid station. There is one additional aid station at a trail intersection about every eight miles. Available snacks include pickles, cookies, chips, pretzels, and assorted candy; hydration options include water, Coke, and ginger ale. The event is cup-less, so participants should plan to use their own hydration vessel.
Packet pickup is race day only at the Activity Center and may not be collected by someone else. Drop bags can be left near the activity area. Restrooms and showers are available before and after the event. Parking is on site; park admission may apply unless an annual state park pass is held. Camping is available through the park.
All finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Included services list chip timing with live results, race bibs, a custom tattoo, post-race pancakes and soup, event giveaways, and complimentary race photos. Time limits apply: a 10 hour limit for each race and a 4 hour cutoff for the first lap of the 50K.
