Prisoner of War Trail Race
The Prisoner of War Trail Race is scheduled for October 24, 2026 at Croft State Park in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The event uses figure eight loops across roughly 7,000 acres of former Camp Croft, with rugged singletrack, roots, rocks, and sustained climbing through South Carolina backcountry.
Distances offered:
- 50K two figure eight loops
- 25K one figure eight loop
- 8 Mile northern section only
A central checkpoint and primary aid station are located at the Activity Center. Additional aid is available at a trail intersection about every eight miles. The event is cup-less and participants are expected to use their own hydration vessel. Available aid station items include water, soda, some snacks such as pickles, cookies, chips, and assorted candy.
Logistics note that race parking is limited to designated race areas; the upper day use lot is reserved for horse trailers and other park guests. There is an admission fee for park entry unless an annual state park pass is held. Drop bags, portable restrooms near the Activity Center, and on course crewing access through base camp are provided.
Timing and awards include chip timing with live results, finisher medals for all finishers, trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers, and age group awards across 15 categories.
