Ozark Trail 100 Mile Endurance Run
The Ozark Trail 100 Mile Endurance Run is a point to point ultramarathon of approximately 101 miles on the Ozark Trail through the Mark Twain National Forest in south central Missouri. The course is almost entirely single track with several water crossings and varied trail surfaces ranging from smooth dirt to moderately technical sections often covered in leaves. Total elevation gain is about 12,000 feet. The final mile is on Bass River Resort property where temporary markers guide runners to the finish. The event has been designated the Missouri RRCA State Ultra Championship for 2026.
Trail navigation relies on fixed Ozark Trail markers. Most markers include a small square of reflective tape to assist with night navigation. The race begins with a short out and back on a grassy forest road. A mandatory prerace meeting is held the evening before the event and runner packets are emailed in advance.
There are 13 aid stations spaced roughly 5 to 10 miles apart. Aid stations are typically manned and provide water, HEED sports drink supplied by the race sponsor Hammer Nutrition, and a range of food items; some night stations offer hot food. Aid stations do not supply common over the counter pain relievers or blister kits. Cutoff times at aid stations are enforced and runners who miss a cutoff may be removed from the race.
Race headquarters and the finish are at Bass River Resort where cabins and camping are available. Shuttle bus service to the start may be purchased. Registration is non refundable and entries are non transferable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
