3 Legged Monster Race

The 3 Legged Monster Race is a three-leg relay for teams of two held on the Ozark Trail within the Mark Twain National Forest near Steelville, MO. The event combines trail running, mountain biking and paddling, with course sections that connect Ozark Outdoors Riverfront Resort and Bass' River Resort and travel along Courtois Creek, Huzzah Creek and the Meramec River.

Course options are divided into short and long routes. Short course segments are a 7 mile run, an 11 mile mountain bike leg and a 12 mile paddle. Long course segments are a 13 mile run, a roughly 30 mile mountain bike leg and a 12 mile paddle. The mountain bike portion includes approximately 17 miles of gravel and 13 miles of singletrack on varied Ozark terrain.

Aid stations are positioned along each leg and provide water and medical assistance. Running leg aid points include Courtois Crossing (mile 5.2) and Bass' Resort (mile 13). Mountain biking aid points include intersections along FR2265 and the trailhead near Bass' Resort; final bike routing may vary. The paddling leg finishes at Ozark Outdoors after travel on Courtois and Huzzah Creeks into the Meramec River.

Logistics note limited cell service on course, that paddles will be provided by Bass' River Resort, and that registration fees are nonrefundable.
