Iron Heart Ultra

The Iron Heart Ultra is a trail running event at Maramec Spring Park in St. James, Missouri, scheduled in February 2027. Races are based at the Massey Hill Shelter and use two named park trails with on-course aid and park amenities.

The course uses the Leatherbritches Trail and the BallHooter Trail. Leatherbritches is about 1.8 miles and passes through pine and oak/hickory forest with views of the historic Maramec Iron Works mine pit. BallHooter is about 3.2 miles with roughly 246 feet of elevation gain and a mix of runnable and technical sections. An aid station sits at the BallHooter and Leatherbritches changeover and provides water and an electrolyte drink.

Packet pickup is available the day before the event and on the morning of the race with a pre-race pasta meal provided by RSVP. Pacers are allowed for the 100 Mile and 100K with check in and a pacer bib; no pacers are permitted for other distances. Awards include overall male and female awards for all distances and custom belt buckles for the 100 Mile, 100K, 50 Mile, and 50K. Camping is permitted in parking and grassy areas with no hookups. Trail runs nearby

An hourly loop endurance race at Missouri Freedom Camp on June 6, 2026, where runners complete a 4.16 mile loop each hour until one remains. Proceeds benefit The Freedom 13 veteran support organization.

A free six-hour endurance event in Devils Elbow, MO, offering 30-minute, 3-hour, and 6-hour options on shaded gravel loops along the Big Piney River with aid stations and prizes.

A three-leg relay on the Ozark Trail for two-person teams, combining trail running, mountain biking and paddling through the Huzzah area and Meramec waterways. Proceeds benefit the Ozark Trail Association.

A backyard ultra at Lions Club Park in Rolla, Missouri, run on a 4.167 miles loop completed each hour until one runner outpaces the rest. Daytime laps use a wooded dirt trail and night laps use a paved creekside route.
