North Chilterns 50K

The North Chilterns 50K is a 50 km trail race held from the Putteridge Bury country house with direct access to surrounding trails. The route covers approximately 798 m of elevation gain and is fully marked with orange signage and marshals at key points. The course follows sections of the Chiltern Way and visits several notable viewpoints including Warden Hill, Barton and Pegsdon Hills.

Aid stations are located at roughly 14.3 km, 28 km and 37.2 km and include water, cola, electrolyte drink, gels, chews, crisps, sweets and fresh fruit. Toilets are available at the event base and at all three checkpoints. The event uses chip timing and provides live results, course-wide medical support, bag drop and free onsite parking.

Runners must be at least 20 years old. The field is limited to 250 runners and the overall time limit is 8 hours 45 minutes. The route is primarily trail terrain and is likely to be muddy at this time of year. The race requires participants to carry a route map on a watch or phone plus a waterproof jacket, headtorch, refillable hydration (minimum 0.5 L), phone with emergency contact, cash or card, warm hat and gloves and a foil blanket.
