North Chilterns 50K

The North Chilterns 50K is an organised trail race held from Putteridge Bury on 21 November 2026. The course covers 50 km with approximately 798 m+ of elevation on Chiltern Way and surrounding trails, including ridgeline sections and views from Warden Hill and Barton and Pegsdon Hills.

The route is fully marked with orange arrow markers and ribbons, and marshals are positioned at several key points. Runners must carry a digital copy of the route on a watch or phone as a backup. There are three checkpoints with toilets: CP1 Arnold Rec, Barton (14.3 km); CP2 The View (28 km); CP3 Offley Village Hall (37.2 km). Aid stations provide water, coke, Precision Fuel & Hydration drinks, gels and chews, crisps, sweets and fresh fruit.

The event is a UTMB World Series index race and is licensed by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules. Maximum field size is 250 with a time limit of 8 hours 45 minutes. Minimum age for entry is 20 and there are no qualification requirements. The event base at Putteridge Bury offers indoor registration facilities, toilets, hot drinks, a bag drop and onsite parking. A GPX file of the route is available and runners are required to carry mandatory kit including a waterproof jacket, headtorch, phone, route map, refillable hydration (0.5 L min), warm hat and gloves, cash or card and a foil blanket.
