The North Chilterns 50K is a 50 km trail ultra held from Putteridge Bury Country House. The fifth edition is scheduled for Saturday, 21 November 2026. The course records 798 m of elevation and is open to runners aged 20 or older. Entry fee is listed at £75 (£73 for UKA affiliated runners). The race is limited to 250 runners, is a UTMB World Series index race, and is held under a TRA licence (No. 7745). There is an overall time limit of 8 hours 45 minutes. Dogs are not permitted.

Course and race support

The route follows local trails including the Chiltern Way, passing Lilley, Warden Hill, Barton Hills, the Pegsdon Hills and Offley. The final 12 km include three short climbs. Navigation is fully marked with orange arrows and ribbons, with marshals at key points; runners must also carry a digital copy of the route. There are three aid stations at 14.3 km (Arnold Rec, Barton), 28 km (The View) and 37.2 km (Offley Village Hall); each has toilets and provision such as water, cola, electrolyte drink, gels, chews, crisps, sweets and fresh fruit. The event base offers indoor registration, toilets, hot drinks, bag drop and free onsite parking. Required kit includes a mobile phone, route map on watch or phone, waterproof jacket, headtorch, refillable water system (minimum 0.5 L), cash or card, warm hat and gloves, and a foil blanket.
