North Chilterns 50K

The North Chilterns 50K is a trail running event held on 21 November 2026 from Putteridge Bury Country House near Luton (LU2 8LE). The race follows local trails, including sections of the Chiltern Way and approaches to the Ridgeway, on a 50 km route with approximately 798 m of ascent. The course features several viewpoints such as Warden Hill and Barton and Pegsdon Hills and finishes back at the event base with direct trail access.

The route is fully marked and supported by marshals at key points. There are three aid stations on course: CP1 Arnold Rec, Barton at 14.3 km; CP2 The View at 28 km; and CP3 Offley Village Hall at 37.2 km. Aid stations provide water, cola, pre-mixed electrolyte drink, gels and chews, crisps and sweets, and fresh fruit. Toilets are available at the event base and at each checkpoint.

Entries are limited to 250 runners. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules. The published time limit is 8 hours 45 minutes. Runners must be at least 20 years old. Organisers provide a GPX file of the route and ask participants to carry a digital route on a watch or phone as a backup.

Required kit includes a mobile phone with an emergency contact, waterproof jacket, headtorch, refillable hydration of at least 0.5 L, route map on phone or watch, cash or card, warm hat and gloves, and a foil blanket. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

A 100K trail race on an anticlockwise loop of the Chiltern Hills, starting and finishing in Chesham and passing The Ridgeway, Ashridge Estate and other landmarks. Fully marked with open GPS tracking and organised support at aid stations.
