The Thames Path Ultra Challenge takes place 12-13 September 2026 along the Thames Tow Path between Putney/Fulham and Henley-on-Thames. The event offers continuous and two-day formats, and is part of a weekend Thames Path Festival that also includes the Thames Moonlight 10 Walk, the Thames Bridges Trek, and a Henley 10K. The organiser provides GPS tracking via a mobile app, fully signed routes, marquee rest stops, medical and welfare teams, and on-route massage and podiatry support. Finishers receive a medal, a T-shirt, and a finishers meal.
Routes, distances and support
- 100 km - Fulham (Bishops Park) to Henley-on-Thames, ~350 m climb
- 100 km (2-day) - two 50 km legs with an optional campsite at halfway
- 72 km - Hurst Park to Henley-on-Thames
- 50 km (1st half) - Fulham to Runnymede, ~200 m climb
- 50 km (2nd half) - Runnymede to Henley-on-Thames, ~150 m climb
- 28 km / 22 km quarter sections across two days with low elevation
- 10 km Henley 10K riverside loop (Sunday)
Rest stops appear approximately every 12.5 km, with major stops about every 25 km. Catering (snacks and meals), hydration, and dietary options are included on-course. Camping packages, shuttle transfers to local train stations, parking at finish lines, and a range of entry categories are available, including an Ultra March category for fast walkers, a Trailblazerz category for faster runners, and a Solo Challenger start option.
