Thames Path Ultra Challenge : 12-13 September 2026

The Thames Path Ultra Challenge is a multi-distance event along the Thames towpath from Putney/Fulham to Henley-on-Thames. The full continuous route is 100 km, proceeding upstream via Richmond, Hampton Court, Runnymede, and Windsor to a riverside finish in Henley. The event is part of a weekend Thames Path Festival that also includes the Thames Bridges Trek and the Thames Moonlight 10.

  • 100 km full continuous (Fulham to Henley; 350 m climb)
  • 100 km over 2 days (two 50 km stages; mid-point campsite option)
  • 72 km 3/4 Challenge (Hurst Park to Henley)
  • 50 km first half (Fulham to Runnymede; 200 m climb)
  • 50 km second half (Runnymede to Henley; 150 m elevation)
  • 28 km and 22 km quarter sections across two days
  • 10 km Henley 10K riverside loop

Support, categories and services

Routes are fully signed and GPS-tracked via a Challenge App. Covered rest stops appear every ~12.5 km with major stops about every ~25 km; catering, seating, changing areas, medical and massage teams are provided. Free snacks and meals are supplied at set intervals and dietary needs are catered for. Camping packages, shuttle buses to stations, and transfers are available. Entry categories include Ultra March (paced walking targets), Ultra Trailblazerz (time-targeted runners), and a Solo Challengers start option.
