The Thames Path Ultra Challenge is a multi-distance endurance event along the Thames Tow Path from Putney Bridge / Bishops Park in West London to Henley-on-Thames. The full continuous route is approximately 100 km and follows the river upstream through Richmond, Hampton Court, Runnymede, Windsor and other riverside sections to a finish in Henley. The event is part of a weekend festival that includes the Henley 10K and other Thames-related walks and treks.
Logistics, distances and support
- 100 km full continuous Fulham to Henley
- 100 km two-day daylight option with mid-way campsite
- 72 km (3/4 Challenge) Hurst Park to Henley
- 50 km first half Fulham to Runnymede
- 50 km second half Runnymede to Henley
- 28 km and 22 km quarter sections on Saturday and Sunday
- 10 km Henley riverside loop (Sunday)
Rest stops are provided roughly every 12.5 km, with larger marquee rest areas about every 25 km. The route is signed with directional markers and an event app offers GPS tracking. Catering includes snacks every 12.5 km and meals every 25 km, with options for dietary requirements. Medical cover includes medics, paramedics, first aid, podiatrists and massage teams. Shuttle buses and transfers to local stations are available, and camping packages are offered at the half-way campsite for the two-day option.
