Nicky Nook Fell Race
The Nicky Nook Fell Race on 7 May 2026 is a midweek fell race around Scorton and Nicky Nook near Garstang. The event is based at The Shippon at the Applestore Café, Wyresdale Park, Snowhill Lane, Scorton PR3 1BA, and is organised by Garstang Running Club.
The course is partially flagged. Distance and ascent are 5 miles (8 km) / 1000 ft (310 m). Runners recceing the route should not use the final off-road descent; that section is available only on race night by permission of the landowner.
Entries open 1 January 2026 and close 5 May 2026. The entry fee is £8.00; pre-entry is preferred for catering and entry on the night is permitted only if the overall limit of 140 runners has not been reached. Minimum age is 16.
The race is licensed by the FRA under UKA rules. FRA mandatory minimum kit must be carried: waterproof full body cover with taped seams and an attached hood, hat (not a buff), gloves, appropriate map, compass, whistle and emergency food. Kit will be checked prior to collecting race numbers.
After the race all runners are provided with free soup and a roll in the Shippon at the Applestore Café. Additional food and drink will be available to buy. There is a good amount of free parking at the Applestore. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
