NAV4 LiAD Recce - Helvellyn to Ambleside

The NAV4 LiAD Recce is a guided training session covering a specific section of the Lakes in a Day route. This particular recce covers the terrain from Helvellyn to Ambleside. The route transitions through the Helvellyn range, starting at Legburthwaite and moving via Sticks Pass to the Helvellyn summit, before descending to Grisedale Hause and climbing Fairfield. The final leg consists of a long descent from the Fairfield summit into Ambleside.

Participants run in a group led by tutors and guides with extensive experience in mountain safety and the specific requirements of the full event. The session follows a route of approximately 11 miles (17.7 km) and includes roughly 6000 feet (1828 meters) of total ascent.
