NAV4 LiAD Recce - Helvellyn to Ambleside is the final LiAD recce in the 2025 Lakes in a Day series. The guided training day covers roughly 11 miles with around 6,000 feet of ascent, featuring the Helvellyn range from Legburthwaite (Thirlmere) via Sticks Pass, Helvellyn and Fairfield down to Ambleside. Participants recce a key middle section of the course with NAV4 tutors and LiAD guides, focusing on navigation, gear choices, nutrition, event strategy, and efficient ascent and descent. The day is limited to six participants and includes Mountain Safety cover; transport is arranged from finish to start by a public bus.
