Event Overview

MTC Albion is a 13-day ultra marathon that runs the length of England from Gretna Green to Lands End. It is part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge Series and takes place from 10th to 22nd July 2029. The event is limited to 20 competitors.

Route and Distances

The total distance is 503 miles. Each of the 13 days is a separate ultra race with varying distances:

  • Day 1: 38 miles
  • Day 2: 38 miles
  • Day 3: 38 miles
  • Day 4: 36 miles
  • Day 5: 32 miles
  • Day 6: 36 miles
  • Day 7: 36 miles
  • Day 8: 39 miles
  • Day 9: 38 miles
  • Day 10: 45 miles
  • Day 11: 54 miles
  • Day 12: 38 miles
  • Day 13: 35 miles

The route largely follows the organizer's classic MTC JOGLE path.

Logistics and Requirements

Accommodation is provided from the end of Day 1 through Day 12. Competitors must book their own accommodation at the start in Gretna Green and after the finish at Lands End. There is a minimum average speed requirement of 4 mph per day, and runners are not allowed to continue on the course after 22:00.

A mandatory kit list includes a backpack, head torch, maps, compass, whistle, mobile phone, and basic first aid kit. The event is cup-free, so participants must bring their own reusable cup.

Entry Information

The total entry fee is £2,600.00, which can be paid in installments. A charity entry option requires a £300.00 deposit and a commitment to raise £3,750 for Spinal Research. All entry fees are non-refundable.

Finishers' Rewards

All finishers receive an Albion medal, a bespoke trophy, and a bottle of Champagne. They also earn an additional bespoke medal for each of the 13 days completed.
