The End to End of England Challenge

MTC Albion is a thirteen day ultra marathon challenge spanning the length of England. The route begins at Gretna Green and concludes at Lands End, covering a total distance of approximately 503 miles. This event is part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge Series and is themed around the Myths and Legends of England.

The journey is divided into thirteen consecutive daily stages, where participants average over 38 miles per day. The daily distances are as follows:

The event follows a route similar to the classic JOGLE course but with reduced daily mileage. Participants must maintain a minimum average speed of 4 mph. Failure to meet this requirement over two consecutive days results in withdrawal from the race. For safety, no running is permitted on the course after 22:00.

Accommodation is provided at the end of each stage from Day 1 through Day 12, typically in hostels, hotels, or Bed and Breakfasts on a shared room basis. Competitors are responsible for their own lodging at the start in Gretna Green and at the finish in Lands End. The organizer provides tracking devices for all participants, which include an SOS button for emergencies. This is a cup-free event, meaning runners must carry their own reusable hydration vessels. Mandatory kit includes a head torch, mobile phone, first aid kit, and waterproof map case. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
