Event Overview

The Mt. Tam Wild Boar Half Marathon & 10K is the 38th annual running event. It takes place on April 25, 2026, at Mt Tamalpais State Park in Mill Valley, California. Participation is limited to 300 runners.

Course Details

The course is a coastal ridge trail run on Mt. Tamalpais. It offers views of the Pacific Ocean, Bolinas Lagoon, and the Marin County watershed. The route combines paved roadways and dirt single-track trails.

  • Half Marathon: The course starts at Rock Springs, follows Ridgecrest Blvd. along Bolinas Ridge to Bolinas/Fairfax Road, and returns via the Coastal Trail.
  • 10K: This distance also starts at Rock Springs, turns left at Willow Camp Trail, and returns to Rock Springs along the Coastal Trail.

The event has a 3-hour cut-off time, which corresponds to a pace of 13:45 minutes per mile for the half marathon and 29 minutes per mile for the 10K. Hikers and walkers are welcome.

Participation Information

All participants receive a T-shirt. Half marathon finishers are awarded medals. The top three finishers in each age group for both distances receive personalized award ribbons, which are mailed after the race.

Aid stations are located at mile 5 for the 10K, and at miles 2.35, 7, and 12 for the half marathon. It is recommended that participants carry water.

Bib numbers are mailed two weeks before the event. If not received, they can be picked up on race day during athlete check-in from 7:00 to 7:45 AM.

Policies

For safety reasons, headphones and audio devices are not allowed on the course due to narrow trails. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. A rollover credit is available if cancellation is requested by March 25, 2026, subject to a $20 fee.
