Double Dipsea

The Double Dipsea is an annual trail race covering 13.7 mile from Stinson Beach, CA to Mill Valley and back to Stinson Beach, run entirely on the Dipsea Trail both ways. The event has been run 55 times since 1970; 2026 will be the 56th running.

The race is conducted as a handicapped event: competitors receive staggered starts based on division, with the male under 40 division as the exception that does not receive a head start. Starting waves are adjusted each year. The organizer describes the race cutoffs as generous. Race documentation includes information on registration, bib pickup, course details, directions, shirts and awards, volunteer opportunities, and frequently asked questions.

Results and historical records are maintained for previous runnings. In 2026 the overall winner was a 66 year old female. The top ten finishers that year included three females and seven males, with ages ranging from 15 to 67. The event page also references an Ultra Half option, historical notes, and photographs from past editions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
