Envirosports - Angel Island Half Marathon
Angel Island, United States • 29 Aug 2026
Angel Island Half Marathon & 10K
The event takes place on Angel Island State Park, Belvedere Tiburon, CA, and follows a hilly loop trail that circumnavigates the island. Along the course are panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, the East Bay and Marin County. The 10K is a single loop and the half marathon completes the loop twice. The field is limited to 400 participants.
The course is marked with orange ribbon wherever a trail crossing or turn is required. The overall course cut-off is 3.5 hours; half marathon runners must complete the first loop within 1 hour 30 minutes. Hikers and walkers may participate in the 10K. There are no aid stations on the course; aid will be available before the half marathon second loop. Participants are advised to carry water. Food and drink are provided at the finish. Half marathon runners must check in at the aid station before starting the second loop.
Logistics note that athletes must take a special chartered ferry from the Tiburon ferry dock to reach the island. Ferries return to Tiburon on an hourly schedule. Athlete check-in and bib pickup are available at the Tiburon ferry dock on race morning and bibs are mailed beginning two weeks before the event if a valid address is provided. Parking in Tiburon lots ranges roughly from $5 to $20 per day and tends to be more expensive closer to the ferry dock.
Incentives include T-shirts for all participants, medals for half marathon finishers, and personalized award ribbons mailed to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable; a rollover credit may be issued before July 29, 2026 minus a $20 fee, and after that date a doctor’s note is required to receive credit. For safety, headphones and other audio devices are not allowed on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
