Envirosports - Angel Island Half Marathon & 10K
This event is a loop trail race that circumnavigates Angel Island State Park, Tiburon/Belvedere, CA. The course offers panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, the East Bay and Marin County. The event is the 36th annual running and is limited to 400 participants.
Distances
- Half Marathon - two loops around Angel Island
- 10K - single loop around Angel Island
The course is hilly and marked with orange ribbon at trail crossings and turns. There are no aid stations out on the course; aid is available before the half marathon second loop and at the finish. Half marathon runners must complete the first loop within 1 hour 30 minutes. The overall course cut-off is 3.5 hours. Hikers and walkers are welcome to participate in the 10K. Headphones and other audio devices are not allowed on narrow trails for safety.
Athlete bibs are mailed beginning two weeks before the event; participants who do not receive a bib may pick one up at the Tiburon ferry dock on race morning. Race pricing includes the athlete ferry fee and athletes must take the chartered ferry from the Tiburon ferry dock to reach the course. Spectator ferry fees are charged at the dock and ferries return to Tiburon hourly at 20 minutes past the hour.
All participants receive a T-shirt. Medals are awarded to half marathon finishers and personalized award ribbons for the top three male and female finishers in each age group are mailed after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
