Course, support and rules
Courses run on regional park trails including Dinosaur Ridge, the Garin-Chabot Trail, sections of Redwood Regional Park, and routes into Rancho Laguna Park. The Bay Ridge 100k starts outside the front gates of Lake Chabot Marina and uses the Cove Picnic Area for drop bags. The Golden Hills Marathon is a looped course that returns to Anthony Chabot Regional Park. The Dinosaur Ridge 30k follows the Dinosaur Trail and offers panoramic East Bay views.
Aid stations are provided and many are vehicle accessible for crew. Courses are marked with ribbons, clothes pins, occasional flour, directional arrows, and wrong-way signs. Pacers are allowed for the 100k and 50-mile races and must register in advance; pacers are not allowed for the marathon. Drop bags are supported at designated stations. The event serves Skratch sports drink and Gu gels. Poles are permitted but misuse can lead to disqualification. Time limits and cutoffs are firm and enforced; runners may not change distance during the race and must sign up for the distance they intend to run. Age-group awards are given by 10-year divisions.
