Dick Collins Firetrails

Dick Collins Firetrails is an annual trail running event in the San Francisco East Bay held each September at Lake Chabot Marina in Castro Valley, California. The 2026 edition is scheduled for September 26, 2026.

The event program includes three distances:

• 100k
• 50 mile
• Marathon

The Firetrails 50 returns to the original out and back course to Lone Oak with only minor adjustments. The 100k follows much of the original course and extends the out and back route to Rancho Laguna Park. The Golden Hills Marathon is described as a looped course starting at Lake Chabot. The Dinosaur Ridge 30k will not be held this year.

All races carry UTMB Index status. The Firetrails 50 is part of the Pacific USATF Grand Prix. Pacers are permitted for the 100k and the 50 mile race but must register in advance. Crew has access to many aid stations unless otherwise specified. Maps, aid station details, cutoffs and crew access are provided by the event.

Finisher items differ by distance. Bay Ridge 100k finishers receive a belt buckle, shirt, finisher hoodie, wine glass, custom bib, woodallion and race photos. Firetrails 50 and Golden Hills Marathon finishers receive a shirt, finisher hoodie, wine glass, custom bib, woodallion and race photos.
