Dick Collins Firetrails - Sep 26, 2026
Dick Collins Firetrails is a multi-distance trail race held at Lake Chabot Regional Park, Castro Valley, CA. The event comprises three distinct races run on local firetrail and park terrain. Runners will encounter courses based on the event's original layouts; the 50 mile course returns to the OG route with a fast out-and-back to Lone Oak, and the 100k extends that route to Rancho Laguna. The 30k distance will not be offered this year and organizers are finalizing a Golden Hills Marathon course.
Distances
- Bay Ridge 100k
- Firetrails 50 mile
- Golden Hills Marathon
Races carry UTMB Index status. The 50 mile race is part of the Pacific USATF Grand Prix. Time limits are published for each distance and cutoffs are enforced because of park permits and regional curfews. Athlete Guides that include aid station placement, crew access, drop bag details, and other logistical information will be released mid-February.
Finishers receive event swag: the 100k includes a rhino belt buckle plus shirt, hoodie, wine glass, custom bib, wood medallion, and race photos. Finishers of the 50 mile and marathon receive similar items without the buckle. Age group awards are given by ten year categories. Refunds are not generally offered; deferrals are allowed outside 30 days and may be granted inside 30 days in exchange for volunteering.
