Dick Collins Firetrails, Castro Valley CA

Dick Collins Firetrails is a set of trail races held at Lake Chabot Regional Park in Castro Valley, California, presented by Scena Performance. The event in 2026 includes three distances and is listed as UTMB Index races. The Firetrails 50 is included in the Pacific USATF Grand Prix.

The event program for 2026 includes:

  • Bay Ridge 100k
  • Firetrails 50
  • Golden Hills Marathon

Organizers state the Firetrails 50 will return to the original course with only small changes, and the Bay Ridge 100k will follow a course that reaches Rancho Laguna. There will be no Dinosaur Ridge 30k this year; a Golden Hills Marathon course is being developed. Preliminary aid station splits, cutoffs, crew access information, and pacer details are published for the 50 mile and 100k courses.

Time limits are published for each race: Bay Ridge 100k 16.5 hours, Firetrails 50 15.5 hours, Golden Hills Marathon 13.5 hours. Finishers receive event-specific items such as shirts, hoodies, a wine glass, custom bib, finishers medallion, and race photos; 100k finishers also receive a rhino belt buckle. Age group awards are given by 10 year age groups.

Registration closes Sep 25 at 11:59 PM PT. Refunds are generally not offered; outside of 30 days entrants may defer to a future year or another Scena event, and inside of 30 days deferrals may be granted in exchange for volunteering.
