Course details and race logistics
Courses are marked using ribbons, clothes pins, occasional flour, directional arrows, and wrong-way signs. Aid stations are listed on the course pages; many are vehicle accessible and allow crew unless specifically marked otherwise. Skratch sports drink and Gu gels will be available at aid stations. Drop bags are supported at Big Bear and will be transported to that aid station; they are returned only after that aid station closes. Pacers are permitted for the 100k and 50-mile races, must register in advance, and must provide their own transport; pacers may join at Rancho Laguna and Big Bear (returning only). Time limits and cutoffs are firm for each race, and age-group awards are given in 10-year groups. Parking at Lake Chabot is available for a fee.
