Dick Collins Firetrails : September 26, 2026

Dick Collins Firetrails takes place at Lake Chabot Regional Park in Castro Valley, CA and comprises three events held the same day:

  • Bay Ridge 100k
  • Firetrails 50 mile
  • Golden Hills Marathon

The Firetrails 50 will use the original course layout, running out to Lone Oak and back with only minor changes. The Bay Ridge 100k will follow a route that continues to Rancho Laguna. There will be no Dinosaur Ridge 30k this year. A Golden Hills Marathon course is being prepared and details will be posted later.

The races are UTMB Index events. The Firetrails 50 mile is part of the Pacific USATF Grand Prix. Organizers list firm cutoffs because of park permits and the East Bay Regional Parks curfew. Time limits are 16.5 hours for the 100k, 15.5 hours for the 50 mile, and 13.5 hours for the marathon.

Finishers receive race apparel, a finisher hoodie, a Firetrails wine glass, a custom bib, a finisher wood medallion, and race photos. Bay Ridge 100k finishers also receive a rhino belt buckle. Age group awards are given by ten year categories. Parking at Lake Chabot is free and organizers provide information on aid stations, drop bags, and crew access via their athlete guides.
