Mint Springs Trail 5K++

The 12th annual Mint Springs Trail 5K++ takes place at Mint Springs Valley Park in Crozet, Virginia on May 9, 2026. The course measures about 3.9 miles and includes approximately 860 ft of elevation gain and loss. The route climbs Bucks Elbow Mountain, follows single track trails with valley views, and passes around ponds before finishing by the playground above the lakes.

All finishers receive a T shirt. Awards are given to the top three finishers overall and to the top three in each of the listed age groups, for both male and female categories: Kids 12-U, 13-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+ . Dogs are not permitted.

The event serves as the first race in the 11th annual Charlottesville Summer Trail Running Series. Series registration is available for the four-race series and includes registration and shirts for the listed races, a technical fabric finishers shirt at the end of the series for those who meet the finish requirement, awards and a post-series barbecue. A rugged out and back run near Crozet, Virginia covering about 29 miles with roughly 7,610 feet of climbing over five steep gravel laps. Limited to 65 runners, informal entry with a small fee and a waitlist.

A memorial trail run in the Jefferson National Forest featuring a roughly 60 km course and a 50 km Party Route option, three aid stations, limited entry, and a largely unmarked route supported by a GPX file and turnsheet.

A 5K and 10K cross country style race at Albemarle CiderWorks on August 30, 2026, with virtual entry options and post-race cider available at the venue.

A multi-distance trail festival in the Shenandoah Valley with technical mountain courses through national forest. Distances range from 21K to 100M and the event offers qualification routes for UTMB World Series Finals and Western States.
