2026 The Orchard Dash 5k & 10k
The Orchard Dash is a trail running event at Albemarle CiderWorks in North Garden, Virginia offering two measured distances: a 5k and a 10k. The route is a cross-country trail with multiple hills; the 5k is completed in two laps and the 10k in four laps. Course maps include elevation details.
Participants receive a chip-timed result, a finisher's medal, a technical event shirt, and one glass of cider from Albemarle CiderWorks. A virtual race option is available. Live results are posted during the event and final results with series points are published the Monday after the race.
Points earned at this event count toward the 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Sippin' Series. The race benefits Rikki's Refuge, a multi-species refuge focused on animal welfare, spay/neuter programs, education, wildlife rehabilitation and land conservation.
The event provides packet pickup at the venue and allows race day registration. There are five water stations on the 10k and two on the 5k at approximate mile markers; some stations include Gatorade. Portajohns are onsite next to the cidery. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second in standard age categories; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group prizes.
