2026 The Orchard Dash 5k & 10k
Date: August 30, 2026. The event takes place at Albemarle CiderWorks in North Garden, Virginia. Points from the races count toward the 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack Series, and toward the Sippin' Series. A virtual race option is available.

This is a cross-country trail run with hills. The 5k uses a two-lap course and the 10k uses a four-lap course. Five water stations are along the 10k at approximately miles 1.1, 2, 3.1, 4.2 and 5.1; two water stations are along the 5k at approximately miles 1.1 and 2. Gatorade will be available at some stations. Portajohns will be onsite next to the cidery. Parking is on-site.
Entry, timing and race services
Entry fees listed in the event information are: 5k - $35 until Aug 15 (then $40); 10k - $50 until Aug 15 (then $55). Price will increase by $5 on race morning. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before Aug 19; additional shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Runners receive one glass of cider from Albemarle CiderWorks, a finisher's medal, a technical Dri-FIT event shirt, and chip timing. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points will be posted the Monday after the race.
Awards and other notes
Top three men and women overall receive awards. First and second place male and female are awarded in age groups 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+; overall top three are not eligible for age-group awards. The Back of the Pack time is listed as 13:30 and is described as a series designation rather than a cutoff time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
