Midwinter Mortimer Trail (MMT) Ultra is a self-navigating trail challenge following the Mortimer Trail from Ludlow Castle in Shropshire to Kington in Herefordshire. It offers two routes: a 30-mile Ultra and a Croft 15 of about 16 miles. The course is a no-frills, mixed-terrain trek through the Marches, with forests, limestone tops and open pastures, and climbs and river crossings past landmarks such as Mary Knoll Valley, High Vinnals, Orleton Common, Croft Ambrey and Wapley Hill Fort. Start is in Ludlow and finish in Kington, creating a welcoming atmosphere for both newcomers and seasoned ultra runners. Transport options between Kington and the start are available.
