The Memorial Day Trail Run takes place on Saturday, May 23, 2026 in Pelham, AL at Oak Mountain State Park. The start is located at the iron gate at the north entrance to the Belcher Tract, just off Hwy 280. The event is held on Memorial Day weekend and not on Memorial Day itself. It is the third race in the Southeastern Trail Series and is longer than the first two races.
The event offers the following course distances:
- 12 Miler
- 6 Miler
Registration closes on Wednesday, May 20; the shirt cutoff is Friday, May 9. Registrations made after May 9 are not guaranteed a shirt; entrants may check with registration after the race for any remaining shirts.
Active military participants may run free of charge. Active military must present a military ID at packet pickup and may register at the event. The organizer provides a coupon code for active military on the event registration page: 2026US.Military.
Packet pickup and late registration are available at Mountain High Outfitters on the Friday before the race and at Oak Mountain State Park on race day. There is a $5 per person fee to park at the north entrance of Oak Mountain State Park.
Place awards are given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall male and female. Age awards are Masters 40-49, Grand Master 50-59, Ultra Grand Master 60 plus, and separate awards for 16 and under male and female. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
