The Memorial Day Trail Race takes place on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Belcher Tract. It is listed as race number 3 of the Southeastern Trail Series and offers two trail race options. Course and logistics

The courses run through the Belcher Tract, passing Belcher Lake, Demopolis Lake and Summit Lake. Sections follow Belcher Road, a roughly 6-mile gravel road that runs from the top to the bottom of the mountain and passes the three lakes. A preview run on the course will be hosted by Resolute Running; the preview date is to be announced.

  • 6 miles - course measured at 6.76 miles, 894 ft elevation gain
  • 12 miles - approximately 12 miles, 1,631 ft elevation gain

Start and packet pickup are at the north entrance to the Belcher Tract (pavilion/iron gate, just off Hwy 280). Parking is in the lot off Belcher Road, about 500 yards past North Shelby Baptist Church; the lot holds about 50 cars and carries a $5 per car fee. Overflow parking is at North Shelby Baptist Church.
