- 12 mile: 12 miles; 1,631 ft elevation gain.
Both courses run on the Belcher Tract and include sections that follow Belcher Road, a roughly 6 mile gravel road that runs from the top to the bottom of the mountain and passes three lakes: Belcher Lake, Demopolis Lake, and Summit Lake. The start is at the iron gate at the north entrance to the Belcher Tract, just off Hwy 280. Parking is in the lot off Belcher Road (about 500 yards past North Shelby Baptist Church) with a $5 per car fee; the lot holds about 50 cars and overflow parking is at North Shelby Baptist Church. Packet pickup and late registration are scheduled the day before and the morning of the race, with a Friday location to be determined and a morning pickup at the pavilion at the north entrance.
