Course and logistics
Both courses follow trails in the Belcher Tract and pass Belcher Lake, Demopolis Lake, and Summit Lake. Sections of the route run along Belcher Road, a gravel road that runs roughly six miles from the top to the bottom of the mountain. The race is timed with HUTAGS that strap to the ankle; runners are advised to keep their timing tag on for the duration of the event. A $5 parking fee applies at the north entrance parking area. The lot off Belcher Road holds about 50 cars and overflow parking is planned at North Shelby Baptist Church. Packet pickup and late registration are scheduled the day before and the morning of the race. Tailwind hydration drinks will be provided at aid stations.
