The Endless Mile

Alabaster, United States • 22-25 Oct 2026

Event Overview

The Endless Mile is a timed running event held at Veterans Park in Alabaster, Alabama. Participants choose a distance by selecting a time goal: 72 hours, 48 hours, 24 hours, 12 hours, or 6 hours. Marathon and 50K distance options are also available, where participants run a set number of laps. The event takes place from October 22 to October 25, 2026. Registration closes on October 19.

The Course

The event takes place on a USATF certified and sanctioned loop course in Veterans Park. The paved asphalt path is exactly 1.00203 miles per loop and is described as smooth and level, with about 12-15 feet of elevation gain per loop. The park features wooded areas, several lakes, real restrooms, and picnic areas. The entire course is lighted, though a headlamp is recommended for better visibility between lights. Race direction is reversed every 6 hours.

Race Format and Amenities

Runners circle the loop as many times as they can within their chosen time limit, with electronic chip timing. Participants can run solo or as an informal relay team. Solo runners who reach 100 miles receive a buckle, as do those who reach 200 miles.

A full aid station operates for 72 hours, providing hot meals and made-to-order food around the clock. The event is cupless, so participants must bring their own cup for cold drinks. Participants are encouraged to set up a personal aid area, and tent rentals are available for 24, 48, and 72-hour runners. A 50% student discount is available for high school age and under.

Packet pickup begins the day before the event. Parking is in marked spaces only. The park is located 26 miles south of downtown Birmingham. Event information, photos, and a course video can be found on the organizer's website. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
