The Endless Mile
The Endless Mile is a multi-day ultrarunning event held October 22 through 25, 2026 at Veteran's Park in Alabaster, Alabama. Runners choose from timed events on a USATF certified loop and may compete solo or with an informal relay group.
The course is a paved, lighted loop of exactly 1.00203 miles. It is very flat, with about 12 to 15 feet of elevation gain per loop, and it passes through wooded areas and alongside several lakes. The park includes picnic areas, shelters, playgrounds, restrooms with running water, soccer fields, and a youth baseball complex.
The event uses electronic chip timing that records and displays exact distance covered. Direction on the loop is reversed every six hours. The aid station is open around the clock and serves real food through the event, plus standard aid-station items and Tailwind hydration drink. Gels are not provided and the race is cupless; runners are asked to bring their own cups.
Finisher medals are awarded to all finishers. Runners who reach 100 miles or 200 miles receive special buckles. The event has produced many age-group and state records for ultradistance events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
