How Hard Can It Be Events : May the Fourth be with you (original)

The event takes place on 2 May 2026 at Carding Mill Valley, Church Stretton, Shropshire, SY6 6JG. A virtual version will run during the week of May 4th. Entries are limited to 200 for the main race. Entry fees are listed between £36 and £42. Registration is open to those meeting the age limits below.

Distances

  • Half Marathon: one lap of 13.1 miles
  • Marathon: two laps (two times 13.1 miles)

Course and logistics

The route runs over the Long Mynd and surrounding Shropshire hills, starting and finishing at Carding Mill Valley. Aid stations are provided on course and marshals are present. All finishers receive a medal. There is a 7-hour cut-off for the full marathon.
