Course, navigation and rules
The full 47-mile route is an out-and-back following the Worcestershire Way, turning at Sally’s Place/British Camp and returning to Abberley Village Hall. The 47-mile course shows ascent 2,941 m and descent 2,941 m (just under 10,000 ft). A GPX file, downloadable maps and written route directions are provided for navigation. The event uses a system of checkpoints: the longest distance has five checkpoints, shorter distances use fewer. Checkpoints have set cut-off times; competitors arriving after closure will not be allowed to continue.
Mandatory kit checks are carried out at registration. The advised kit list includes a backpack, OS Map 150 or GPX device, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food and a basic first-aid kit. The event is self-navigation and time-limited; organisers also provide designated pacers known as Time Lords for set target times. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
