The Malvern Hills Ultra is an out-and-back trail race based at Abberley Village Hall, Worcestershire WR6 6AZ. Entrants may choose from the following race distances:

  • 47 miles
  • 38 miles
  • 31 miles
  • 23 miles

Entry fees are non refundable and include a contribution to the Malvern Hills Conservators. Current published entry prices are: MHU 47 £95, MHU 38 £85, MHU 31 £80, MHU 23 £70. All entrants must be at least 20 years old on the day of the race.

Finishers receive a bespoke MHU medal and a commemorative item such as a technical T-shirt, mug or hat. A food pack is available at the finish. The event is cup-free; competitors must bring a reusable cup.

Route and race logistics

The 47 mile route predominantly follows the Worcestershire Way, turning at Sally’s Place, British Camp, then returning to Abberley Village Hall. The 47 mile course has 2,941 m ascent and 2,941 m descent (just under 10,000 ft). The organiser provides downloadable maps, written directions and a GPX file for navigation.

Checkpoints are provided along the route to monitor times and well-being, and to provide water and some nutrition. Checkpoint stations have fixed closure times; competitors arriving after closure will not be allowed to continue. Competitors must carry mandatory kit; random bag checks take place at registration. Trail runs nearby

Take on the Winter Bumble Bimble 5 mile trail run from the Park Gate Inn in Bromsgrove on Sunday 30 November 2025. Entries are limited to 300 and all finishers get a medal as you tackle woodland, rolling fields and muddy scenic trails.

Run a scenic, traffic free 6.5 mile (about 10K) lap of Croome Park with a big hill to start and finish. Trail shoes are recommended and all finishers receive medals and goody bags.

Take on 50 miles of winter trails around Telford and Shropshire, taking in Ironbridge and the Wrekin at the Telford T50 Trail Run. Clear waymarking, well stocked aid stations and friendly marshals make for a rewarding endurance day.

Tackle the hills at the 36th Cardington Cracker on 7 December 2025 near Church Stretton. This 14.5 km FRA AM fell race climbs 793 m across rough winter terrain so advance entry is advised.
