Lymm Festival Races

The Lymm Festival Races take place on a variety of off-road surfaces, including grass and dirt paths. All events start and finish on the running track at the Lymm High School playing fields, located on Oughtrington Lane. The event features two distinct distances:

  • 5 mile trail race
  • 2 km children’s fun run

The 5 mile trail race is open to participants aged 16 and over. The route utilizes the school playing fields and extends into the natural terrain of Helsdale Wood and Spud Wood. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as winners in age categories ranging from V40 to V70+. There is also a team competition where the first three runners from a club count toward the score.

The children’s fun run covers approximately 2 km and is designed for participants aged 4 to 15. This specific race is held entirely within the boundaries of the school playing fields. Finishers in the fun run receive a race medal and a treat. Proceeds from the fun run are donated to the Woodland Trust.

The course is not suitable for buggies or participants running with dogs. Race numbers must be collected at the venue on the morning of the event. While refunds are not provided, registration transfers to other runners are permitted until one week before the race date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
