Lothersdale Show Fell Race

Lothersdale Show Fell Race is an historic fell race first run in 1847. The event uses a new course that starts and finishes on the showfield and follows footpaths for most of the route. A short section crosses White Hill Lane and otherwise the course avoids the long road run through the village.

The course distance and ascent are 1.5 miles with 400 ft of climb. Juniors and seniors run together on the same course. Entry is accepted on the day at Lothersdale Show Field with senior entry priced at £2 and junior entry at £1.

Prizes include a cash award for the first male and the first female overall, certificates for the first three finishers in each junior age category, and an award for the first local runner. Junior age categories are U11, U13, U15 and U18; age is determined on the day and the minimum age to enter is 8.

The race is one of the few events where younger and older competitors run together and is listed among the older fell races still in existence. Past results are retained for reference. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
