Loon Mountain Race

The Loon Mountain Race takes place at Loon Mountain Resort in Lincoln, New Hampshire. The event features three categories: Loon Mountain Women, Loon Mountain Men, and a U20 Race for participants under 20 years old on race day.

The race is known for a challenging kilometer ascent of North Peak on a black diamond trail called Upper Walking Boss. This section has grades that exceed 40%. A separate timing challenge for the fastest times up this section offers a prize purse.

A $20,000 prize purse is presented by Darn Tough Socks. Participants can pick up their bibs at the Octagon Lodge the day before the race or at the Gov Adams Lodge on race morning, starting at 6:00 AM. There is no day-of registration.

Spectators are allowed and can use the Gondola, which starts running at 7:30 AM. After finishing, participants can return down the mountain via the Gondola or by running down a marked 1.5-mile service road. Trekking poles are not permitted, as it is a USATF event.

Registration closes on the Thursday before the race. Participants must sign a waiver from Loon Mountain Resort to race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
