The Jigger Johnson Ultras is a mountain trail race held August 14-16, 2026, in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire, inside the White Mountain National Forest. The event offers three distances and uses the town square at Waterville Valley for the race hub. The course terrain is technical and mountainous, with long exposed sections and stretches without aid. Distances
- 100 Mile - 108 miles; 29,000 ft elevation gain; out-and-back to South Moat.
- 50 Mile - 58 miles; 16,000 ft elevation gain; includes multiple mountain summits.
- 20 Mile - 20.1 miles; 5,900 ft elevation gain; loop includes Mount Osceola and Mount Tecumseh.
Course and logistics
Time limits are set per distance: 100-mile 54 hours, 50-mile 30 hours, 20-mile 24 hours. Aid stations allow drop bags; the 20-mile race has a single aid station on course and no drop bags except at the start/finish. Camping is available at Osceola Vista Campground; parking is in the back lots at Waterville Valley Town Square. Crew access is restricted on remote aid stations; the 20-mile race does not allow crew or pacers. Pacers are permitted for the 50-mile and 100-mile only from designated aid stations and must carry the same mandatory gear as runners and complete a gear check. Mandatory gear includes a minimum of 2 liters of water, a water filter, minimum calories, emergency blanket, GPX file on a device, headlamp and spare batteries, warm layers, neon safety vest, communication device, and a basic first aid kit.
