- 50 Mile - 58 miles, 16,000 ft elevation gain, 30 hour limit

The 100 mile course is an out-and-back route from Waterville Valley to the South Moat turnaround and back, with multiple major climbs and aid stations spaced along the route. The 50 mile and 20 mile courses follow mountainous, technical trails and include long sections without aid. Courses are unmarked; organizers provide CalTopo maps and GPX files for navigation.
Mandatory gear is required for all distances and will be checked before racing. Required items include fluids, a water filter, calorie carrying capacity, emergency blanket or space blanket, headlamp, navigation file, a neon safety vest for road sections, and a communication device. Missing mandatory gear results in disqualification. Qualifications vary by distance: the 100 mile requires a recent 50 mile or similar mountain effort, the 50 mile requires a recent 50 km or similar mountain effort, and the 20 mile has no formal qualification.
Logistics notes: drop bags are allowed at aid stations for longer distances, no crew access is permitted at remote aid stations, pacers must check in and carry the same mandatory gear, and campground parking is available at Osceola Vista Campground. Distances may vary slightly year to year due to permitting. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
