Jigger Johnson Ultras : White Mountain Endurance

The Jigger Johnson Ultras are multi-distance trail events held August 14-16, 2026 in the White Mountain National Forest with the town square at Waterville Valley, NH serving as the start/finish area. The event offers the following distances:

• 100 Mile (listed as 108 miles total)
• 50 Mile (about 58 miles)
• 20 Mile (about 20.1 miles)

Courses traverse rugged, mountainous terrain and include long climbs, ridgelines, and exposed sections. The 100-mile option is an out-and-back route from Waterville Valley to the South Moat turnaround and back, with total elevation gain listed at about 29,000 feet. The 50-mile course includes multiple summit sections and about 16,000 feet of elevation gain. Maximum course elevation is listed near 4,340 feet.

Mandatory gear is required for all distances and is checked before the race; required items include a minimum of 2 liters of fluids, a water filter, a GPX file on a device, a headlamp with spare power, an emergency blanket, a neon reflective vest for road crossings, and basic first-aid supplies. Failure to carry required gear results in disqualification.

Crew and pacer policies differ by distance: remote aid stations prohibit general crew; pacers must check in and carry the same mandatory gear. Drop bags are permitted at aid stations; weather-sealed bags are recommended. Camping is available at Osceola Vista Campground; parking is at Waterville Valley town square.
