Lobster Lollop

The Lobster Lollop is a family-focused trail running event organised by Purple Gecko Events in association with the National Lobster Hatchery. The course is an out-and-back route along the Camel Trail and the event offers multiple distance options to suit different participants. It is scheduled for Saturday 14 November 2026.

Available distances:

  • 2.5k
  • 5k
  • 10k
  • 10 mile

There are Canicross categories on the 5k, 10k and 10 mile distances. Minimum age requirements apply: 5 years for the 2.5k, 8 years for the 5k, 14 years for the 10k and 18 years for the 10 mile. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. All Canicross participants must be 16 years or older.

The day is split into two separate sessions because of trail restrictions, with longer distances run separately from the shorter fun runs. There are no cut-off times in any category. Every runner receives a Lobster Lollop medal and awards are given to top finishers in each category. Donations to the National Lobster Hatchery can be made on entry, and the event medal grants free entry to the Lobster Hatchery for the weekend. Final race details will be emailed to entrants and posted closer to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
