Leith Hill Half Marathon
The Leith Hill Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile cross country trail run from the Nower at the western edge of Dorking to Leith Hill Tower and back. The route uses footpaths and bridleways, passes Westcott, climbs Wolvens Lane past the Plough Pub at Coldharbour, and includes about 1,800 feet of total ascent. The final climb reaches Leith Hill Tower, the highest point in south eastern England, before returning along the same track to the finish on the Nower.
Race HQ is at The Priory School, West Bank, Dorking, Surrey. The event provides four water stations located at about 2, 5, 8 and 11 miles and is supported by marshals along the course. Entry includes a personalised race number, a commemorative reusable medal that can double as a coaster, a bottle of local beer, and a full cooked English breakfast with a vegetarian option. There is an option to purchase a branded finisher running T shirt with a name on the back until three weeks before race day.
Entry fees are not refundable but places may be transferred to another runner. The event donates profits to a local charity, Mid Surrey Community Fridges, and encourages car sharing and use of public transport to reduce its carbon footprint. The race holds a permit from the Association of Running Clubs and lists course records for the 13.1 mile distance set in 2025. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
