Last Wolf Howling
Last Wolf Howling is a Last Person Standing event planned on private property in White's Crossing, about 6 miles east of Wiggins, MS near Highway 26. The exact location, address and directions will be released race week. Registration is open but credit card charges will not be processed until the organizer confirms the final site.
The course is a mostly shaded, flat, double track trail of roughly 2.08 miles laid out as a double lollipop that extends from a central start and finish area. Elevation change is minimal. Runners complete the loop once every 30 minutes; each loop must be started from the corral and finished within the 30 minute limit. The event continues until only one runner is able to complete a solo lap. A special feature allows the final runner to continue solo to reach 100 miles.
Official results will record mileage for all participants; no DNFs will be issued and runners will be ranked by mileage attained. Every runner completing at least one 2 mile loop will receive a finisher medal. Any runner reaching 100 miles or more will receive a buckle.
Crew tents will be available near the start area on a first come basis and there will be a designated tent for uncrewed runners. A fully stocked aid station will offer meals, snacks and beverages; crews and family may take water from the aid but must purchase a meal ticket to access race meals. Portable toilets will be on site.
Pacers are not allowed. Runners may receive aid from other runners but may not be crewed or assisted along the course by nonrunners. Rules and additional details will be provided closer to race week. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
