Diablito 50/50 at Tickfaw State Park

Diablito 50/50 is a trail running event scheduled for July 25, 2026, at Tickfaw State Park in Springfield, LA. The event offers two distances:

• 50 Miler
• 50K

The course uses the River Trail, a roughly 5 mile trail loop that runs along the Tickfaw River. The organizer notes the presence of local wildlife on and near the trail, including poisonous snakes and alligators. Two aid stations are planned: an unmanned halfway station stocked with water, electrolytes, snacks, and ice, and a main aid station at the start/finish with ice, electrolyte water, soda, snacks, and fully cooked food. Both distances share a 14 hour cutoff.

Tickfaw State Park features over a mile of boardwalks through multiple ecosystems including cypress/tupelo swamp and bottomland hardwood forest. On-site lodging options include 30 improved campsites, 20 unimproved campsites, and cabins or group camp spaces. Cabins and group camp units provide basic cookware, utensils, dinnerware, silverware, towels, and linens; participants must bring their own food and some personal supplies, and group camp visitors must bring their own dishes and linens.

Event items and recognition include a T-shirt, headbands, a cooling car seat towel, a finisher medal, and custom awards for the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Race day food at the start/finish includes a variety of items and vegan options; finish meals are to be determined.
