Diablito 50/50 at Tickfaw State Park

Diablito 50/50 takes place at Tickfaw State Park in Springfield, LA. The event offers two ultra distances:

• 50 Miler
• 50K

The main running loop is the River Trail, a five mile trail that runs along the river. The route passes through park ecosystems including cypress and tupelo swamp, bottomland hardwood forest, mixed pine and hardwood forest, and boardwalk sections. The organizer notes the presence of poisonous snakes and alligators on or near the trail.

Aid support includes two stations. There is an unmanned aid station near the halfway point with water, electrolytes, snacks, and ice. The main aid station at the start and finish provides ice, electrolyte water, soda, snacks, and fully cooked food. The time cutoff for both distances is 14 hours.

Tickfaw State Park lodging options are available and listed: improved and unimproved campsites, cabins, and a group camp. Cabins and group camp units provide basic cookware, utensils, dinnerware, silverware, towels, and linens, though group camp visitors may need to bring some items.

Participant items include a T-shirt, headbands, and a cooling car seat towel. Finishers receive a medal and the top three male and female finishers for each distance receive custom awards.
