Langstone Fell Race - Dartmoor Fell Series

The Langstone Fell Race is the third event in the Dartmoor Fell Series, starting and finishing in the village of Peter Tavy. The event is based at the Peter Tavy Village Hall, with parking facilities provided in nearby fields.

The course covers just under 10 km with an ascent of 387 m. From the start, the route follows a winding lane that rises steeply before crossing a narrow bridge. Participants then enter a moor section leading toward Gt Combe Tor. After passing through a series of gates, the course transitions onto the open moor.

The route continues with an ascent of Cox Tor, where a marshal is located at the summit trig point. Following this climb, there is a section of fast running as the path drops into a valley and rises again toward a ridge. After crossing a stony ford, the terrain leads toward the Langstone Standing Stone.

The final segment of the race features a 4 km descent passing Boulters Tor. This section consists of a hard track followed by open grass and a steep ridge track. The race concludes with a finish across fields back at the village hall.

In addition to the senior race, junior races are held approximately 30 minutes before the main event to support younger participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
