Dartmoor Discovery Ultra Marathon

The Dartmoor Discovery is a 32-mile road event located in Princetown. It is recognized as the longest single lap road ultra marathon in the United Kingdom. the course traverses various hills throughout Dartmoor and holds a course accuracy certificate along with an Association of Running Clubs race permit.

The event has a participation limit of 275 runners and features a race cut off time of 6 hours and 45 minutes. Participants have access to 10 drink stations, and personal drinks can be deposited for use at nine of these locations.

Finishers receive a bespoke medal and a technical t-shirt. The event provides several on-site facilities and services, including a bag store, a PA system, free race photos, and a bar. Following the race, there is a disco and free food provided for participants.

Awards are presented to the first three male and female finishers, as well as various veteran categories ranging from MV40 to MV70 and FV35 to FV60. Prizes are also designated for the first male and female newcomers and the top male and female teams. A course record prize is available for both male and female categories.
