Tsunami Ocean Trails

Scheduled for Saturday 6 June 2026, the Tsunami Ocean Trails take place along a rugged section of the North Devon and Cornish coastline. The event uses clifftops and cliff trails between several coastal points and finishes in Bude.

The event includes multiple distances:

  • Ultra: Westward Ho! to Bude along clifftops and cliff trails.
  • Marathon: Clovelly to Bude, start at Clovelly harbour and finish at Castle Bude lawns.
  • Sixteen: Hartland Quay to Bude, 16 miles including steep Hartland Quay section.

Routes run through wild and remote terrain with long stretches that do not pass through towns or villages. The marathon route includes almost 2,000 m of ascent; the ultra adds approximately 11 miles to the marathon route.

Courses are fully marked and marshalled. Checkpoints are staffed and first aid is provided on course and at headquarters. A bespoke medal is awarded to all finishers. Bus transport to the starts and event t-shirts are available to purchase via the entry system.

The event holds a permit from the Trail Running Association. Route maps and GPX files from the 2023 event are provided for reference. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
