TSUNAMI Ocean Trails

The TSUNAMI Ocean Trails is a trail running event held along the North Devon and Cornish coastline. The routes cover rugged and remote sections of the clifftops and coastal paths between Westward Ho! and Bude. The courses are fully marked and marshalled, passing through isolated areas with no towns or villages along the path.

Participants can choose from three distinct distances:

  • Ultra-marathon 37 starting from Westward Ho! and finishing at Bude.
  • Marathon starting from Clovelly harbour and finishing at Bude.
  • Sixteen miles starting from Hartland Quay and finishing at Bude.

The marathon distance begins at the iconic Clovelly harbour, where runners navigate uphill cobblestones through the village to reach the Coast Path. This specific route includes approximately 2,000 m of total ascent before finishing on the lawns of Castle Bude. The Sixteen mile option covers the section from Hartland Quay to Bude, which features significant vertical gains and steep terrain.

Finishers across all race distances receive a bespoke medal. The event provides first aid support on the course and at the event headquarters. Bus transport to the various start locations from Castle Bude is available for purchase during the entry process. Due to insurance and permit limitations, dogs are not allowed to accompany runners during the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
