Trail Running Event in North Devon and Cornwall
The TSUNAMI Ocean Trails take place along the coastline of North Devon and Cornwall, utilizing the clifftops and cliff trails of the South-West. This event offers participants the opportunity to run through remote sections of the coast path, featuring terrain that does not pass through towns or villages.
Distances and Routes
The event consists of three distinct race distances, each following a point-to-point course that finishes on the lawns of Castle Bude.
- Ultra 37: A 37-mile ultramarathon starting at Westward Ho! and finishing at Bude.
- Marathon: A course starting at Clovelly harbour, climbing cobblestones through the village to reach the coast.
- Sixteen: a 16-mile route starting at Hartland Quay, featuring the most vertiginous sections of the trail.
The marathon distance includes approximately 2,000 meters of total ascent. The Sixteen-mile race follows the section of the coast from Hartland Quay to Bude.
Participant Information
The course is fully marked and marshalled for all participants, with first aid services positioned along the route and at the event headquarters. All finishers receive a bespoke medal upon completion.
Bus transport to the various start locations from Castle Bude is available for purchase during the entry process. The event has specific age limits relative to the race date and different entry fees for UKA members and non-members. Due to insurance and permit limitations, dogs are not permitted to accompany runners on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
