Lake Macbride Trail Races

Solon, United States • 19 Jul 2025

The Lake Macbride Trail Races, held in Solon, Iowa, offer challenging 50K and 25K trail runs around Lake Macbride State Park, Iowa's largest state park. The course features a one or two-loop route starting and finishing at the Macbride Spillway parking area. Runners experience a mix of crushed limestone trails, technical snowmobile trails, single track, prairie, and hills, with four well-stocked aid stations per loop.

The race emphasizes trail running, avoiding major roads, and includes a festive post-race party. Registration is capped to ensure quality race management, and awards are given to top finishers by gender and age groups. Volunteers play a key role in supporting the event.
