Cascade Slide - Cascade Brewery Bar, South Hobart

Cascade Slide is a trail running event organised by Kunanyi Trail Series on Saturday 31 October 2026. The event hub is at Cascade Brewery Bar (Gardens) in South Hobart. Courses run through Cascade Track, open woodlands, rainforest gullies, the Main Fire Trail, Slides Track, McRobies Gully and the community-built mountain bike track Jurassic Shark. Parts of the courses follow prominent ridgelines and fire and mountain bike trails that return toward the brewery.

The event offers three course options:

  • Enduro: 17 km, 830 m elevation
  • Sport: 11 km, 460 m elevation
  • Explorer: 4 km, 190 m elevation

The Explorer route follows Cascade Track into open woodland, drops to Old Farm Road and climbs the Golden Gully ridgeline, omitting Slides Track, McRobies Gully and Jurassic Shark. The longer courses include the Main Fire Trail and mountain bike-style switchbacks on Slides Track and Jurassic Shark.

The event is the final fixture of the 2026 series and coincides with Halloween. The on-site program includes a run briefing and cultural Welcome to Country, food offerings such as a barbecue, and later presentations with spot prizes. Maps and elevation profiles for the courses are provided via STRAVA links. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
