Kunanyi Trail Series - Tolosa Half

Mount Wellington, Australia • 2 Aug 2026

Tolosa Half, Quarter & Explorer at Tolosa Park

The event on Sunday 2 August is centred at Hut 8 – Melaleuca, Tolosa Park, Glenorchy and offers three trail distances. Routes are mapped with elevation profiles by STRAVA.

  • Enduro: 21 km, 830 m elevation.
  • Sport: 10 km, 420 m elevation.
  • Explorer: 5 km, 130 m elevation.

The courses move from the edge of suburbia into open woodland that transitions to denser mixed forest. Vegetation includes towering eucalypts and lichen-covered dolerite rock. Runners encounter technical rocky sections as well as flowing singletrack. The Tolosa Half continues beyond the Old Hobartians Track to The Springs, roughly the halfway point, and then descends along the purpose-built North-South track. The Tolosa Quarter turns around at the Old Hobartians Track.

The Explorer 5 km route follows the shorter trail used by the other distances. It is described as pram-able but still rough; an all-terrain pram with a roll cage and adherence to manufacturer age recommendations is advised. The Event Hub offers activities for family and support crew, including games for children and coffee from Bean and Leaf. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
