Kunanyi Mountain Run
Kunanyi Mountain Run is a three-day trail festival scheduled for 19–21 March 2027 in Nipaluna / Hobart, Lutruwita / Tasmania. The event is presented by SALOMON and produced by Trail Ventures. It highlights running on and around Kunanyi and includes trail runs, walks, cultural activities, and community events. The organisers acknowledge the Palawa people as the traditional owners of the land.
The program offers a range of distances and formats, including:
- 66 km Ultra Solo - 3,780 m± elevation
- 66 km Ultra Relay - 3,780 m± elevation, six legs 7 km to 12 km
- 46 km Alpine Marathon - 2,360 m± elevation
- 25 km Mountain Run - 1,560 m± elevation
- 25 km Mountain Walk - 1,560 m± elevation
- 9 km Vertical Downhill - 1,150 m descent
- 14 km Foothills - 680 m± elevation
- 9 km Foothills - 380 m± elevation
- 5 km Foothills - 220 m± elevation
- Kids runs for ages 5 to U15
- Guided cultural mountain walk, about 1.5 hours return
Qualification is required for the Ultra Solo and Alpine Marathon. Qualifiers must be recent and verifiable; options include specific trail and road times, or a combination of road marathon and trail runs. Qualifying runs are judged on total elapsed time and must be recorded and viewable online. Runners may register before completing qualifiers but must have them done by 6 March 2027.
Registrations were scheduled to open in late 2026. Entry fees include race entry, finishers medal and merch, aid stations for specified events, fully marked courses, on-course photos, timing and live results, drop bags, and event medical support.
