Knole Park Regional - Sunday 5th October

This is an orienteering event held at Knole Park, a deer park with open land and forest and a network of rides and paths. Entry is by online advance registration only. Contactless electronic timing (SIAC) will be used; basic non-SIAC timing devices are available free of charge and SIAC dibbers can be hired for £2. Results will not be displayed at the event; final results will be posted after the event. Car sharing is available.

Yellow, Orange and Score courses are noted as most suitable for beginners and family groups. The Brown, Blue and Score courses use a 1:10,000 map scale; other courses use 1:7,500. Entry fees vary by category and by date, with group and individual rates and higher late-entry fees. Parking is in the Sevenoaks Town multi-storey car park TN13 1LW with charged rates; Sevenoaks railway station is about 1.3 km away and buses run twice hourly. Take part in a woodland night score at Westerham: 60 minute navigation to collect as many 10 point controls as you can from 20 locations. Limited entries, book online in advance; apres and prize giving at The Carpenters Arms.

Scenic timed loop around Canvey Island via sea wall and coastal path, starting and ending at Waterside Farm Leisure Centre. Counterclockwise, self supported and with a pub check in near 10k for a top up and friendly course sweep.

KNC 6 at Rusthall Common is a Kent Night Cup score event combining forest, urban and rock features in a 60 minute night challenge. Limited to 40 places and online registration only, so book early for an atmospheric evening orienteering.

Explore runnable forest at Shoreham Woods with courses for all abilities and a one hour score challenge. Online entry only; trails are shared with walkers, riders and bikers and have some steep slippery slopes.

Join Carshalton Street O for an evening of score orienteering in the Mole Valley Winter series, starting outside The Hope pub with food and post race refreshments. Pick 60 or 40 minute score courses and use MapRun to time your run.

Join KNC 7 on Thursday 20 November for a MapRun Street O along the Isle of Sheppey coast from Little Oyster Car Park, Minster on Sea. Tackle a 60 minute score with 31 virtual controls and enjoy an optional Apres O nearby.
